Lincoln Park
The Lincoln Park community receives its name from the equivalently named park, which stretches along Lake Michigan and is bordered by Lakeview, North Center, Logan Square, and West Town
The first European settlement in the Lincoln Park area was created in the 1820s by the United States Army, near modern day Clybourn and Armitage Avenues. From this point on, the Lincoln Park area began to slowly grow as American settlers moved further west.
Today, Lincoln Park is a fundamental building block in Chicago's culture; featuring an outdoor theatre, a rowing canal, the Chicago History Museum, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, and DePaul University.
